POSITION SUMMARY:
The accounting specialist assists with the day-to-day functions of the Finance Department with a focus on accounts receivable and additional accounting support for the finance team. Other duties include but are not limited to reviewing A/P and A/R general ledger coding for accuracy, performing monthly cash reconciliations, processing A/R cash receipts entry from check, EFT, and ACH deposits and assisting with providing documentation for annual audits.
Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's Degree in Accounting or 2 years related experience required.
- 2-4 years of A/R work experience preferred.
- 1-2 years’ experience in a Housing Authority preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are key to success in this position.
- Must be organized with high attention to detail.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently to problem solve.
- Must be flexible with changing priorities and able to meet deadlines.
- Ability to quickly switch between tasks and various entities, which SPHA manages.
- Communicate in a diplomatic and professional manner.
- Computer skills including at least intermediate level experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Capacity to learn or have previous experience with property management software.
$28.00 - $30.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications
